Cultural Authority & Lore
Warrimay Nyuragil operates under inherited Cultural Authority connected to the Dates bloodline of Onebygamba (Carrington) and surrounding waterways. This responsibility is carried through an unbroken Songline representing eight generations born on Country among the Gathang-speaking Warrimay people. The work is guided by Aboriginal Lore, intergenerational knowledge and accountability to community, ensuring governance and engagement remain grounded in living cultural practice.
Cultural Authority is not symbolic. It carries responsibility to protect Country, uphold community accountability and ensure that consultation and advisory work aligns with Lore — not solely policy frameworks. Governance through Warrimay Nyuragil is therefore relational, accountable and grounded in lived custodianship.
